How to Make Charcoal Pancakes at Home
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp food-grade activated charcoal powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp melted butter or oil
Instructions:
- Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients Separately: In one bowl, whisk together the flour, charcoal powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another, combine the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Combine and Stir: Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth. Be careful not to overmix, as this can affect the fluffiness.
- Cook to Perfection: Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Pour in the batter and cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another minute.
- Plate and Decorate: Serve with fresh berries, maple syrup, or a dusting of powdered sugar for a striking contrast.
